A Court of Mist and Fury By Sarah J Maas

A Court of Mist and Fury, the sequel to A Court of Thorns and Roses, caught me off guard. Even though I knew it would be better than the first, I wasn’t expecting anything to hit so near to heart, especially the biggest suspense Sarah J Maas has in store for the readers. The Plot Feyre has been severely impacted mentally and emotionally as a result of the events of A Court of Thorns and Roses. And Tamlin is of little assistance. Feyre is imprisoned in the Spring Court manor house for her own safety. We can breathe a sigh of relief now that she’s back with Tamlin. But not…

A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J Maas

I realise I’m a little late to the ACTOR party, but I’ve finally done it, I’ve dived into the wonderful realm of Faeries. I’m planning to write a separate blog for each of the volumes, so this will be the first in a series of ACOTOR blogs. The Story Feyre, a young girl and huntress, is abducted and brought across a centuries-old border to live eternally in the fairy kingdom of Prythian after she murders a faerie in A Court of Thorns and Roses. Feyre is thrust into a world of political intrigue, magic, and hardship, and as she falls in love with her masked captor, she learns the secrets…

Six of Crows Duology by Leigh Bardugo.

Leigh Bardugo’s The Six Crows is a duology based on the Grishaverese. Six of Crows is the first book in the Six of Crows duology, set two years after the events of Ruin and Rising (Shadow and Bone trilogy). I just finished reading both books in the series, and you guys, I’m obsessed. It’s no surprise that this series is widely popular and has won numerous awards. The Plotline Six of Crows is a story of a heist in a world of magic and crime. The book features six main characters, and are written in alternating points of view from the six main characters. Kaz, Inej, and the rest of…

The Folk of the Air series By Holly Black. Book Review!

I can’t wait to read the rest of the series after finishing The Cruel Prince. I thoroughly enjoyed this entire series and became a fan of Holly Black as a result. In this blog, I’ll go over the entire The Folk of the Air series. Initial Impression of the Plots! The Wicked King is the second instalment in The Folk of the Air series. This book was definitely better than the first, and it was probably my favorite of the entire series, owing to all of the storyline twists. I stayed up way too late to complete this book because it kept me on my toes the entire time I…

The Cruel Prince (The Folk of the Air #1) by Holly Black.

I see why The Cruel Prince has gotten so much attention. It’s a truly amazing story. From the outset, there was something about the language, the universe the author builds, and the entire mood of the book that couldn’t help but captivate me. I have yet to read the next two books in the series, but I am eager to start them and write a complete series review as soon as possible. I can see why there’s so much fuss. Call me a geek for arriving late to the party, but this book is fantastic. What’s the story about? When Jude’s parents were slain, she and her two sisters were…

The Infernal Devices Series by Cassandra Clare. Book Review!!

Finally, I’ve decided to write about the Infernal Devices trilogy, often known as The Clockwork Angel novels. The fact that the name of my blog and book are similar is not a coincidence ( if not I based the name of the blog on the book). This series in the Shadowhunters universe is one of my favorites. The Characters we meet in the first book of the series are what I enjoy about it. The Story Clockwork Angel is the first novel in Cassandra Clare’s Infernal Devices series, and the fourth book we’re reading for this Shadowhunter mission in the order provided by Cassandra Clare herself! This is a YA…

Daisy Jones & The Six by Taylor Jenkins Reid – Book Review.

There is no need for an introduction to this book. If you’re a fan of contemporary romance; you’ve probably seen this book at a bookstore or heard great things about it on social media. Despite the fact that I am writing about Daisy Jones & The Six by Taylor Jenkins Reid at a late hour; but I have just finished reading it. I put off reading this book for some reason and had never read anything by this author before. The book is structured like a music documentary with people’s statements, and a few articles thrown in for good measure. There is no back-and-forth conversation, inner thoughts, or unnecessary description.…

Classic Novels To Read (women’s classics)

This blog is a follow-up to Part 1 of the “Classic Novels to Read” series. And I wanted to make a blog devoted to women in literature where I selected my favorites women’s classics. Jane Eyre By Charlotte Bronte It’s no surprise that Jane Eyre is considered not only a feminist classic, but also an example of Romantic Gothic literature. Bronte’s writing is enthralling and exquisitely eloquent. Within the first few pages, readers are likely to develop a fondness for Jane and her numerous ‘plights’. Jane is such a genuine character, and Bronte captures the inner workings of her mind perfectly. There are also numerous insightful passages on issues of…

Classic Novels To Read (Part 1)

The classic novels are a treasure trove of English literature. They never grow old and continue to inspire many novels, films, and plays to this day. Any avid reader should read these classic novels. During my first year of masters at college, I read my first classic novel. Classics have always piqued my interest, and they are now one of my re-reads. So I compiled a list of great novels I’ve read; which is in two parts. The Iliad by Homer The Iliad is Greek civilization’s first and greatest literary achievement; an epic poem without equal in world literature and a cornerstone of Western culture. The Iliad’s tale revolves around…

Agatha Christie’s three books I loved!

Agatha Christie was a well-known mystery author in her day. Her story’s suspense and thrill are unparalleled in today’s world.I’m not sure if today’s mystery writers will create works of such enduring appeal for future generations; I guess we’ll have to wait and see. The following are some of my favorite Agatha Christie novels. Murder on the Orient Express book by Agatha Christie We follow poirot on a train through the snowy mountains as he investigates a murder. Because of the snow, the train is stuck where it is; restricting the movements of all potential culprits and rendering escape impossible. This, of course, sets up the perfect mystery, so we…
